J. J. EWELL OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR AWARD
This is the call for nominations for the Outstanding Educator Award. This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the growth and success of developmental students and who best exemplifies the ideals on which our organization is founded.
As you may know, each institution may nominate one individual, and from this group one will be selected as the State Developmental Educator of the year. Please solicit nominations from your developmental educators. Select the top person from your institution. These winners will be recognized at the annual state conference, which will be held this year on October 28-30, 2009, in Lafayette.
Send your institution's nominee for the Outstanding Educator Award to me. Please include the following:

1. Letter of nomination.
2. Letter(s) of endorsement from the coordinator, director, or other administrator.
3. Nominee's resume.
4. Name and address of nominee's local newspaper.
5. Other supporting materials that the nominee might wish to submit.
6. Nominee must be a member of LADE

 

ANNE FERGUSON AWARD
This award is given to an individual who has completed at least two developmental college classes in two different academic subjects, completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and contributed significantly to his or her community. Include with the nomination –

1. A letter of nomination that includes the specific developmental classes taken.
2. Two letters of endorsement (one page each) from college faculty, with one letter from the instructor or professor of a developmental class taken by the nominee. (In the event that the instructor or professor is no longer accessible, another faculty member familiar with the student's work may substitute as the author of a letter of endorsement.)
3. The nominee's resume (one to two pages), and
4. No more than two letters of reference (one page each) from current work supervisor and/or community leader.
