Developmental Studies Advisor

 Louisiana State University Eunice invites applications for the position of Developmental Studies Advisor. This full-time, student focused position in the nationally recognized Pathways to Success Program provides academic advising to underprepared students.  Responsibilities include: identifying and solving student retention problems; reviewing student transcripts and test scores; registering students; participating in new student orientation; and, assisting the Director in developing, implementing, and assessing programs and materials to enhance academic advising.

Minimum of a master's degree in an appropriate discipline, successful experience working with developmental students in a college or university setting, and experience in advising diverse populations.  Teaching experience in a university or college setting, knowledge and experience with technology and the two-year college environment are highly desirable.

Salary: $32,000 – $33,500.  Starts June 1, 2010, or as otherwise agreed upon. Review of applications begins April 1, 2010, and continues until the position is filled. 
This is a one-year appointment ending June 30, 2011 with reappointment contingent upon institutional resources.
